Venture Church is an apostolic community of Christians based in Burnet, TX on a mission to evangelize and equip people with the gospel of Jesus Christ to the glory of God in our generation.

Formerly, our church was housed in a traditional building on the other side of town for several years where we met weekly for services, taught the Word of God, held prayer meetings and fed the hungry through our community kitchen, but after the Lord suddenly brought someone to purchase our building and pay off our debts, we knew He was inviting us to venture out with Him. After gathering in an old elementary school for over a year, a door was opened for us to plant our feet on some beautiful land on a hill overlooking the city and beyond. We met weekly in a large tent on this hill for several months until the construction of our multi-purpose facility was completed. Now, as a growing family of believers, we are continuing to preach Jesus, contend for revival, and raise up the next generation of disciples for the kingdom of God. Come visit us to learn more about what the Lord is doing in our midst and how you can be apart of the venture!

our CORE values and beliefs:

Venture Church preaches the Word of God. We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, complete and without error. It is the source and final authority for all Christian living and teaching (Mt. 5:18; Jn. 10:35; 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:15-17;  2 Pet. 1:20–21).

Venture Church seeks TO KNOW god and make him known. We believe the Bible clearly teaches that there is only one true God, and besides Him, there is no other. He is infinite in power, holy in nature, and personal in His love for mankind. Through His redemptive plan, He has revealed Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He not only created all things, but also now upholds, sustains, governs, and providentially directs all that exists according to the counsel of His will (Gen. 1; Deuteronomy 6:4; Ps. 90:1-2; Ps. 104; Ps. 139; Isa. 43:10; Isa. 64:8; 1 Cor. 8:4-6; Eph 4:4-6).

Venture Church proclaims that jesus is both lord and christ. The one God who revealed Himself as the Father of all has in these last days revealed Himself fully in His Son, Jesus Christ, who is the express image of the invisible God and all the fullness of the Godhead dwelling in bodily form. We affirm that Jesus of Nazareth is the promised Messiah, the Son of God. He is God manifested in the flesh, being fully divine and fully human, He dwelt among us. He is from everlasting, yet He is the only begotten Son sent from the Father, who was conceived of the Spirit, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life and offered Himself as a penal, substitutionary sacrifice for sinners. By His blood shed at the cross, He obtained for us eternal redemption, the forgiveness of sins and life everlasting (Isa. 7:14; 9:6-7; 11:1-5; Mic. 5:2; Mt. 1:18–25; Jn. 1:1–18; Rom. 8:34; 1 Cor. 15:1–28; 2 Cor. 5:21; Gal. 3:10–14; Eph. 1:7; Phil. 2:6–11; Col. 1:15–23; 2:9; Heb. 1:1-14; 7:25; 9:13–15; 10:19; 1 Pet. 2:21–25; 1 Jn. 2:1–22:9; Rev. 1:4-6).

Venture Church desires to grow in our love for Jesus. We believe the first and great commandment should be in first place in our lives. We grow in passionate love for God the more we see His passionate love for us; therefore, we pursue and teach who God is in the face of Jesus Christ. Loving God and being loved by Him is our highest calling and grandest reward (Matt. 22:37-40; 2 Cor. 4:6; 1 Jn. 4:19).

Venture Church desires to grow in our love for People. We believe that as we grow in the love of God, we will undoubtedly grow in our love for people. We want to love people not just in word, but in deed, that we might become bright neon signs that proclaim, "This is what God is like!" (Matt. 22:37-40; 1 Jn. 4:12)

Venture Church exists because of the Gospel. The good news about the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ is why we are here. He commissioned His disciples to go into the world proclaiming this message, for He desires that none should perish, but that all might come to repentance and be saved. Humanity has been separated from God because of our sin, rightly deserving of punishment and wholly unable to acquit ourselves, but He has made a way for the lost to be found and redeemed. Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone and in Christ alone. He is the way, the truth, and the life, and there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (1 Cor. 15:1-11; 2 Pet. 3:9; Rom. 3:23, 6:23; Eph. 2:8-10; Jn. 14:6-7; Acts 4:12).

Venture Church seeks to obey the great commission. We are deputized by Jesus to go into all the world, preaching the gospel, making disciples, baptizing them, and teaching them to obey all that He commanded. We seek to follow the apostles' example as they began to walk this out after the Holy Spirit was first poured out in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost --- "Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, 'Brothers, what shall we do?' And Peter said to them, 'Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit (Matt. 28:18-20; Mark 16:15; Acts 2:37-41).'"

Venture Church seeks to live like Christ 24/7/365. Though being fully and truly God, He became a man and dwelt among us as a humble servant, laying down His life as a ransom for our sins. Now, Jesus calls us to take up our own cross, deny ourselves, and follow His example each and every day. We highly esteem humble and joyful servanthood (Phil. 2:3-11; Matt. 16:24-26).

Venture Church seeks to establish a culture of honor within our community. We feel that the Lord wants to restore the principle of honoring one another in the Church today. How we speak and act towards authority and one another reveals a lot about what's in our heart, and we want to honor God by choosing to be merciful, kind and respectful of others even when we disagree with them. We believe healing, unity, and blessing comes when we seek to have this attitude in our relationships, especially in the Body of Christ (1 Cor. 12).

Venture Church seeks to build a culture of generosity and gratitude within our community. The Lord is our provider, but He loves when we cheerfully choose to partner with Him in our giving. We never want to stimulate any form of manipulation that presses people to give begrudgingly, but rather, we intend to invite people to give out of the overflow of their gratitude and willingness to help others. Extravagant giving isn't measured by a dollar amount, but by the heart amount.

Venture Church aims to do everything with excellence. This doesn't mean we expect perfection, but our goal in all that we do is to do it with the best of our ability before the eyes of the Lord. Knowing that He's watching changes everything, therefore, we want to work heartily as unto Him in our jobs, homes, schools, recreational activities, ministries and everywhere in between.

Venture Church believes in the Miracle-Working Power of the Holy Spirit. We believe that the Lord is still in the business of demonstrating His power over sin, sickness, emotional brokenness, bondage, death and more. He is still changing lives, stretching forth His hand to heal, baptizing believers with the Holy Spirit and releasing supernatural gifts, so that the Church would be built up and equipped with boldness to be His witness unto the uttermost parts of the earth.

Venture Church values the Pursuit of Holiness and Purity. No amount of sacrifice can replace obedience to the Lord. It is out of our love for God that we choose to walk in wholehearted obedience to Him, especially when no one else is watching. In a society flooded with sexual immorality and idolatry, we are seeking to be holy to the Lord in our thoughts, words, and actions according to His grace that is working in us.

Venture Church prays. God called His house a house of prayer for all nations, and the early Church demonstrated this for us throughout the narrative of the Book of Acts. We believe in the power and importance of prayer, in secret and together in one place. We seek to gather regularly to intercede for our land, and we highly promote and teach about prayer and fasting as individual disciples.

Venture Church values Exuberant Praise and Intimate Worship. We believe the Lord is worthy of our love, gratitude and adoration, therefore, we praise and worship Him. Like many of the Biblical patriarchs, we sing, play instruments, dance, jump, clap and shout in celebration of what God has done, but we also bow our hearts in fascination of who He is and always will be. We not only want to sing songs of worship unto Him but to pour out our lives as ceaseless offerings of praise. READ MORE

Venture Church seeks to serve our community and beyond. We believe that God is glorified when we do good. As born again citizens of His kingdom, we want to extend His love to those around through simple acts of kindness, feeding the hungry, serving the poor, visiting the widows and shut-ins, and more.

Venture Church is contending for revival. We are praying and believing for a God-breathed outpouring of the Holy Spirit to spread across the Texas hill country like a wildfire. We believe that when His people who are called by His name come together to repent and pray, He is faithful to heal our land. We desire to see multitudes saved and this region transformed by the power of God.

Venture Church seeks to model apostolic community. We look to be a 21st-century expression of the 1st-century church, a church who gathers together over meals, prays together, shares with those in need, proclaims Jesus together, meets in each other's homes, shares in each other's triumphs and defeats, and holds fast to the apostle's doctrine.

Venture Church stands with God-Centered Families. We believe that God alone is the author of marriage and family and what they are intended to be. We want to help reinforce Biblical definitions, values, and principles related to families and the importance of building our lives around Him. We believe that it is the Lord's desire to build a multi-generational Church that fully expresses His intention for family.
